PODCAST-So, we ask the question what is going happen to you when you die? Do you have plans and have you told your loved ones what your wishes are as a motorcycle enthusiast? Do you want to be cremated or better yet; buried on you beloved Harley Davidson? We discuss an Ohio man whose wishes were to be buried on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Well, his wishes came true and I must say it might not be politically correct in some eyes. We say good for him and he rode his Harley through those pearly gates as he wished. Is it weird or creepy? You make the call on this one. This episode is packed with a ton of other topics and emails, so you best listen up.
MECHANICSBURG, Ohio — An Ohio man got his wish last week – to be buried upright on his 1967 motorcycle.
Billy Standley can be seen on his bike in a plexiglass casket. He started planning the burial 18 years ago. It took five embalmers, three extra burial plots and […] wood steel reinforcements to make it happen. Standley also wanted an outdoor funeral so his biker friends could see him off. His children said the motorcycle helped him keep a sense of adventure after he settled down to raise four kids.

We go over several emails we have received:
.1) In reference to the FREE video at: www.LawAbidingBiker.com/TwinSlashRounds
From Joe: “Am I reading this right? You ALREADY had the cat removed and new headers installed BEFORE you swapped out the mufflers?? Im asking because I’d like to change the sound of my 2013 ultra classic but do not want to put in the headers right now. The Slash rounds sound great on your sg but I'm thinking that's due mainly to the opened headers?? I’d love to get rid of the sewing machine sound on the stock pipes but not at the cost of re-mapping right now.”
Response: “Joe; Having the cats out will improve sound some. The significant change is getting rid of the stock muffler. Having the cats benefits performance more than sound. I hope that answered your question. I’ve heard the Twin Slash Rounds on Harleys with cats still in. They sound much better than the stock pipes. They really suffocate the bike with those stock mufflers. Ride Safe!”
2.) Thanks to all the Europe listeners and supporters!
From Rick of Europe: “Hey Guy's, I just wanted to Thank You for the great videos… I bought my first Harley(fat bob) a while back and love it..great ride. I'm originally from Western Washington but now live over in Europe..your videos are very popular on this end!!. Just wanted to tell ya Thank you once again and keep up the great work.”
3.) In response to 2 FREE videos:
- The Review blog and video on the Vance and Hines Dresser Twin Slash Duals we did. (headphones required to truly evaluate pipe sounds). https://www.lawabidingbiker.com/twinslashrounds/
- The review blog and video we did on the 2014 Harley Street Glide Special: www.LawAbidingBiker.com/2014StreetGlideSpecial
From Michael Allen: “First of all, good job on the Street Glide Special videos. I am picking mine up in June and your videos are awesome. I have a Fat Bob with Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 2. I love the sound of them. I am looking for a pipe combination for my new street glide and am looking at the Vance and Hines power duals in Black. I am also looking at the Vance and Hines Blackout Rounds or the Rhinhart 4 inch rounds. Do you have any experience with this combination? I am looking for stereo compatible pipes that do not sacrifice much of the loud pipe design like that of the Big Radius. Would like the Big Shot Duals, but they do not offer it in black for the 2014 touring models. Thanks for your time.”
Response: “Thanks for the feedback brother! I ran V&H True Duals on my 2011 Harley Street Glide and had no problems hearing my stereo, as the exhaust sound was behind me. Now, the guys riding behind me weren't all that thrilled about my pipes, but heck I heard my stereo fine….LOL. I also ran the V&H Big Radius on my Harley Wide Glide and I absolutely loved their look and sound, but I did not have a stereo. I'm super stoked that you are getting a new SGS!! You are absolutely going to love it bro. My opinion is that you will be fine with the V&H Big Shot Duals or V&H black out Rounds or the Rhinhart 4 inch Rounds. Point is that the sound will be behind you from my experience and it won't affect you in hearing your stereo.”
4.) Don't complain if you live in the United States:
From John O Keeffe of Ireland: “Just listened to your latest podcast! Great show. Just a little info for you. As you know, I just got a 2014 street glide, unfortunately in Ireland/Europe, we don't get the 6″ boom box with sat nav, we can only buy the regular glide and have to buy the special faring as an after market part, $2600. For us to get your boom box system, we need to buy the ultra!! Madness!! Keep up the good work…”
