After using the Harley-Davidson Wireless Headset Interface Module βWHIMβ for 1 1/2 years it failed on me. It would only complete a partial software load on startup. (see video below with detailed info)
On the Harley Boom Box!β’ Infotainment System, I was missing the headset status and configuration tab when paring my Harley stamped Sena 30K mesh and Sena 20 S wireless Bluetooth headsets. I tried updating the firmware on my Harley Sena headsets, the WHIM, and my Boom Box. That didn't fix the issue.
I unplugged the WHIM and the Harley master fuse trying to reset the WHIM. I finally went to a Harley Dealership and plugged my Boom Box into the Digital Technician Software to try and fix it and that didnβt work either.
I had to actually buy a new WHIM and replace the corrupt unit and it fixed all the problems immediately. I really wonder how big of a problem this is and if others are experiencing it?

Bought my WHIM in April 2019 for my 2018 Street glide with the 6.5 Boom Box. Had it flashed at the dealer last month. I bought the Harley 10s and the Harley Expand headsets. Both pair with no problem but I never could get the Config menu to show up. The intercom menu does not show up under the COM tab. Is the unit bad right out of the box or is it a firmware issue as described in your article?

Barry,
You may want to do a factory reset and then load the most current software update. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
