Caliper bolts needs a E16 socket — female version of a torx head. Thank goodness I had one as I had to remove both calipers.
Clamp 1/2 socket.

Hi Ryan. I love your video and have purchased a few. I have the same 2014 Street glide special so watching your videos on it is like watching you work on my bike! Quick question….is the removing of the front tire any different with the 2014 with ABS?
Ryan Urlacher says
Hey Paul, hope you are getting some riding in! There is absolutely no difference with removing the wheel on and ABS model.
Christopher King says
Hi Ryan. Why do you put the jack in from that side? I put mine in from the other side and the bike settles on it as I jack. I do not have to balance the bike with one hand while positioning the jack and pumping.
Ryan Urlacher says
You certainly can Christopher. There’s always many ways to skin a cat…… Ride safe brother!
Laura Stover says
Thanks for the great video Ryan! I just put new rubber on the front of my Police Electraglide and I didn’t have to pay somebody to drop and reinstall the front wheel!

any idea what you have to do to put an abs wheel off a 2014 street glide onto a 2013 road king? or will it bolt right in and I can not use the sensor
Matt Couchman says
Kevin,
Our understanding is you would need to change out the rotors. There is a difference between ABS and non ABS. I’ll check and advise.

Law Abiding Biker website is awesome Ryan. Bought a 95 Road King and after 2 weeks of riding ñ the throttle cable snapped. Found your site and after watching your video on how to replace the cable and 2 hours later, I was back rolling down the road. LAB is now my go to site for everything. Thanks Ryan, you’re a life and money saver!!!
Matt Couchman says

Ryan, changing out my fender soon (dented the stock fender, too). I have less than 9k miles on the’12 Ultra – do you recommend new bearings as preventative maintenance, and at what mileage? Would bow be a good time to do this?
Matt Couchman says
Randy,
Here is what the service manual says:
WHEEL BEARINGS
Inspect wheel bearings at every tire change:
1. Check wheel bearings as outlined in 2.10 SEALED WHEEL BEARINGS. Replace wheel bearings if end play exceeds 0.002 in. (0.051 mm).
2. If wheel is already removed, check wheel bearings as follows:
a. See Figure 1-11. Insert finger into wheel bearing and rotate the inner race in both directions. Repeat step on the opposite side of the wheel.
b. Replace the wheel bearings if there is drag, rough rotation, abnormal noise or anything unusual.
Check axle spacers for wear and corrosion. Replace as necessary.
With that said, Ryan has 40k miles on his bike and we’re going to change them soon. I know many people change them with every tire change as cheap insurance.
