I want to thank Law Abiding Biker community member Bill Moody for sending this very useful information along with photos. So, after Apple announced their new iPhone 6

lineup with specs, he created wooden templates to verify if either the 6 or 6+ would fit into the Ultra Limited or Street Glide USB Harley-Davidson Boom!™ Box Compartment.
The iPhone 6+ will go in the USB compartment without the foam insert but there isn't enough room to attach the charge cord. The smaller iPhone 6 will just fit with charge cord attached.

This is totally not true. The my iPhone 6 Plus fits in the compartment, plugged into the lightning connector WITH the foam insert still in. I have a 2014 Utra Limited.
Really, we’re providing the truth. My iPhone 6 plus fits too with the foam insert. However I can’t close the door if it is plugged into the charger. Hope this helps further brother. And thanks for checking us out!
How did you make it fit? Mine does not fit
Insert the iPhone 6 Plus (naked without a cover) with the lightning connector going in first. Keep the phone towards the top as you insert it. I use a 6 inch lightning connector but have used a longer one successfully as well. It fits AND the door closes.

I have a 2017 Utra limited not able to fit my iPhone 7 Plus. I will try to fit with the charger port in first. Thanks for the info .

I’m looking to upgrade to an iPhone 6S (not 6S plus) but I’d like to
have an Otterbox case on it. Has anyone tried it with an otterbox or similar sized case and the foam removed
with the door closed?
It is very tight fit with my 5s and otter box. To the point I am afraid the door might break I plan on trimming the front of the foam and also the foam slot. That will do it, it is not too long the foam and the otter box just push the foam out and make the door hard to close. If you need more space just buy some craft foam at the hobby store an reline the compartment.
My iPhone 6 case fits with my life proof case plugged in to a 6 inch lightning cord with foam insert removed, put in at angle and hold towards the top
Why bother fitting it? It is NOT compatible ! After trying for hours i went to HD website last ine compatible was the 5S. DOH! I shoukd have looked before signing up for upgrades with AT&T.. plays music but no calls or text downloads
It’s been a headache for us too. Fingers crossed future updates will resolve this.
