We have spent time with each of these audio systems and have tested them heavily in many different real world environments. We are bikers through and through, so our tests are for the average day to day biker out there. We did not test in some sterile controlled environment like many manufacturers do.

Note: We get asked often to try to do an audio/video comparison and then share it on our weekly Law Abiding Biker™ Podcast or on our popular YouTube Channel, but the fact of the matter is that would not do any of the systems justice. It simply does not translate correctly to the listener or viewer for a stereo system comparison.

There is NO Bluetooth (wireless) headset on the market that will pair “directly” with the Boom Box Infotainment System-PERIOD. There are only workarounds, which we've been testing. Harman Kardon, creator of the Harley Boom!™ Box, specifically designed it to work with a “wired” headset & NOT directly with a Bluetooth headset.

Note: (Add-on 7-pin DIN kits)(Street Glide, Road Glide Etc)

If your Harley touring model, such as a Street Glide, Road Glide etc, doesn't come stock with the 7-pin DIN plug, you can easily purchase and install an add-on kit. Then you can utilize the IMC Headset!

Harley Wireless Boom!™ Box Voice Command/Recognition Microphone-7 Pin Connector-Does it work?

Harley Boom Box Wireless Microphone HeadsetWe have received a ton of emails and comments on our YouTube Channel, so we thought we would address this for all you Bikaholics out there!

You may have come across items on eBay and Amazon labeled “Wireless Microphone for 2014 & up Harley Davidson” at a cost of around $45. Basically, it is nothing more than a flexible stick microphone that plugs into your Harley Davidson 7 pin headset port on top of your gas tank on full touring Harley models. It has a foam wind screen over the mic to cut down on wind noise.

UPDATE HERE-BEST HARLEY-DAVIDSON HEADSETS!

The claim is, you can sit up straight, ride on down the road, and give voice commands to the Harley Boom Box System without the use of a “wired headset.” I submit that this is a wired microphone (minus ear speakers) as it plugs directly into the 7 pin connector. After giving voice commands, the voice within the Boom Box will respond through your stereo speakers.

The Boom Box Infotainment System is capable of voice commands such as navigation, making phone calls, changing radio stations, finding songs/artist by name on your paired smartphone or MP3 device, skipping to the next song and so on.

Olympia Horizon Motorcycle/Biker Rain Jacket & Pants Review

Olympia Horizon Rain GearFor those bikers/motorcyclists that truly ride hard, it becomes quickly apparent that quality motorcycle riding rain gear is a must. For those of you that only ride your motorcycle on sunny days to town & after checking the weather report, well then never mind.

I have many stories of new bikers, including myself many years ago, that head out on trips unprepared. I can tell you that it only takes one time of being caught unprepared in a cold rainstorm riding your motorcycle before you start researching quality motorcycle riding rain gear! Don't stand for cheap non-motorcycle rated rain gear. Trust me, I tried the regular old rain gear in the past and it failed miserably in many aspects.

I thoroughly tested the Olympia Horizon motorcycle rain jacket and pants. Yup, we purposely went out in the pouring rain & cold on a 3 hour ride on my Harley Davidson Street Glide Special to test this gear.  And I have used it many times since then while riding in the rain.

This Olympia Horizon rain gear performed extremely well & I am very satisfied with it. It is a permanent item in my saddlebags. It is super compact and both the jacket and pants have a self stuffing pouch. If I get caught in the rain I can quickly pull over, deploy the gear from their stuff sacks, and have it on very quickly.

I chose the black/pewter color. However, it also comes in black/neon orange and black/neon yellow. All models have 3M Scotchlite reflective material on them for high visibility. There are four sizes to choose from.

This gear is easily adjustable and easy to get on over other riding gear, even your boots. It has velcro, nylon, and cinch straps all over to get it on quickly over your other riding gear & sealed up before taking off down the road.

There is an additional stretch knit hood to put on under your helmet, thus sealing your neck and collar area from the elements even more. Or it can be kept in a collar hood pocket. There is also a stretch knit cover attached to the hood to put across your face/neck area.

When you're done with the Olympia Horizon rain gear just easily loosen all the straps and velcro. Once taken off you can have both the Olympia Horizon rain jacket and pants stuffed back in their sacks and stowed in your saddlebags in about a minute or so. It is peace of mind to know that I am always prepared wherever I go & don't have to take up a large portion of my saddlebags.

I really have nothing bad to say about the Olympia Horizon motorcycle rain jacket and pants. The gear has performed well over time & is a great value for the price . I stay perfectly dry no matter how hard it is raining or how far I ride my Harley.

How to use & operate Schuberth SRC Bluetooth Headset System for C3 Modular Helmet-Complete Guide & Instructions

Schuberth SRC System Bluetooth Headset MotorcycleVideo-In this free video I show you everything you need to know to successfully set up and operate the Schuberth SRC Bluetooth Headset System. The SRC system was designed by Cardo Communications to be specifically used with the Schuberth C3 helmet by replacing the OEM neck roll pad. The Schuberth SRC is a super slick and clean head set and communications system and you don't have to have a bulky box hanging off the side of your motorcycle helmet.

That's right, you can listen to your music inside your helmet via bluetooth from your smart phone or mp3 player. You can pause/play your music list and even skip songs forward and back with the buttons right on the SRC! The SRC has a built-in FM radio with six programmable presets. You can talk to two other riders with specific Cardo headset systems, making it three-way communications within 1000 feet. Once paired via bluetooth with your smart phone you can make and receive phone calls right inside your helmet via voice commands.

The SRC speakers are plenty loud even while going down the freeway and I never turn the system volume all the way up. I have tested phone calls and the person on the other end can't even tell I am riding my Harley Davidson while talking with them.

Of course I show you how to do all of the above and more with the Schuberth SRC System in this tutorial video, so check it out. You will still want your smartphone attached in front of you on your handlebars with a Biker Gripper Motorcycle Cell Phone Mount to make some things easier and I discuss this in the video.

The only negative with the SRC System is that you can only update the firmware in the unit with a PC and there is no MAC support at this time. That is a failure in my opinion. Only with a PC can you connect your SRC System with the provided USB cable and update the firmware.

Video-Install Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED Headlight on Harley Davidson | Review & Guide

Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED Motorcycle Headlight Comparison adn InstallVideo-As most of us Harley Davidson owner's know, many of the stock OEM headlights are less than impressive. Many bikers/motorcyclists ask about the Harley Davidson stock headlight Vs. a Harley Davidson Day Maker headlight Vs. a Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED headlight. We have had a ton of emails, so we did this project for all you Bikaholics out there!

A Harley Davidson Day Maker headlight runs around $500, which is rather steep. But, we all know that if it says Harley Davidson on it then it is going to be way over priced. So, I decided to go with the Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED headlight, which prices for around $269. You can add an additional $20 to that price tag if you are installing it on a 2014 or newer Harley, as an additional wiring harness conversion will need to be purchased. Truck Lite actually makes the Phase 7 LED  headlight for Kuryakyn and they put their label on it. Truck Lite is a leader in LED headlight technology, which is why Kuryakyn likely teamed up with them.

In the end, I opted for the Schuberth C3 and am I glad I did! There are many reasons I went with the Schuberth C3 over others, so watch the video as I explain.

Note: Schuberth invented the modular helmet and has been making them the longest. They are the quietest and lightest modulars on the market. And the C3 is both US DOT and ECE 22.05 certified! Most other modular helmets can't meet the ECE rating. The C3 is German engineering at its finest and when you wear it you will realize such.
