How to use & operate Schuberth SRC Bluetooth Headset System for C3 Modular Helmet-Complete Guide & Instructions

Schuberth SRC System Bluetooth Headset MotorcycleVideo-In this free video I show you everything you need to know to successfully set up and operate the Schuberth SRC Bluetooth Headset System. The SRC system was designed by Cardo Communications to be specifically used with the Schuberth C3 helmet by replacing the OEM neck roll pad. The Schuberth SRC is a super slick and clean head set and communications system and you don't have to have a bulky box hanging off the side of your motorcycle helmet.

That's right, you can listen to your music inside your helmet via bluetooth from your smart phone or mp3 player. You can pause/play your music list and even skip songs forward and back with the buttons right on the SRC! The SRC has a built-in FM radio with six programmable presets. You can talk to two other riders with specific Cardo headset systems, making it three-way communications within 1000 feet. Once paired via bluetooth with your smart phone you can make and receive phone calls right inside your helmet via voice commands.

The SRC speakers are plenty loud even while going down the freeway and I never turn the system volume all the way up. I have tested phone calls and the person on the other end can't even tell I am riding my Harley Davidson while talking with them.

Of course I show you how to do all of the above and more with the Schuberth SRC System in this tutorial video, so check it out. You will still want your smartphone attached in front of you on your handlebars with a Biker Gripper Motorcycle Cell Phone Mount to make some things easier and I discuss this in the video.

The only negative with the SRC System is that you can only update the firmware in the unit with a PC and there is no MAC support at this time. That is a failure in my opinion. Only with a PC can you connect your SRC System with the provided USB cable and update the firmware.

Video-Install Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED Headlight on Harley Davidson | Review & Guide

Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED Motorcycle Headlight Comparison adn InstallVideo-As most of us Harley Davidson owner's know, many of the stock OEM headlights are less than impressive. Many bikers/motorcyclists ask about the Harley Davidson stock headlight Vs. a Harley Davidson Day Maker headlight Vs. a Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED headlight. We have had a ton of emails, so we did this project for all you Bikaholics out there!

A Harley Davidson Day Maker headlight runs around $500, which is rather steep. But, we all know that if it says Harley Davidson on it then it is going to be way over priced. So, I decided to go with the Kuryakyn Phase 7 LED headlight, which prices for around $269. You can add an additional $20 to that price tag if you are installing it on a 2014 or newer Harley, as an additional wiring harness conversion will need to be purchased. Truck Lite actually makes the Phase 7 LED  headlight for Kuryakyn and they put their label on it. Truck Lite is a leader in LED headlight technology, which is why Kuryakyn likely teamed up with them.

I must say that there is absolutely no comparison and the Phase 7 LED breaks right through the darkness and gives the rider a completely different night-time view.

Note: Schuberth invented the modular helmet and has been making them the longest. They are the quietest and lightest modulars on the market. And the C3 is both US DOT and ECE 22.05 certified! Most other modular helmets can't meet the ECE rating. The C3 is German engineering at its finest and when you wear it you will realize such.

From start to finish we have you covered in an extremely easy to understand & detailed free video.

In this video we use a Harley Davidson motorcycle. We show you how to install the Fuelpak 3 on your newer model Harley Davison motorcycle via the data link connector (DLC) also known as a CAN bus connector. We then show you the best solution for mounting your cell phone on your motorcycle handlebars with a Biker Gripper Cell Phone Motorcycle Mount, so you can view real time data on your smartphone directly from the Fuelpak 3 via bluetooth! That's right, no messy wires running under your tank and up your handlebars like many other EFI tuners require. We show you other tips, tricks, and functionality of the Fuelpak 3 in this video!

Save yourself money and don't rely on a dealership or technician to install and EFI tuner or auto tune your Harley. After watching this tutorial video you will definitely be able to install the Vance & Hines Fuelpak 3 on your own motorcycle right on the kickstand in your garage or on your patio! No specialty tools are needed.

If you get new head pipes, mufflers, or air intake on your motorcycle then you need to at least
do a basic re-map of your motorcycle's electronic fuel injection (EFI) or things will not run properly. The Fuelpak 3 is a great all in one solution for this.

Harley Davidson will charge you $200 plus to do this and you will only get a basic (canned) map & no auto tune. Then if you ever change anything you will be back in a Harley dealership giving them another $200 plus for a new basic canned EFI map. The Fuelpak 3 will allow you to easily do what the dealership does plus auto tune your bike over and over again.

We show you how to start with a pre-determined (canned) EFI map by Vance & Hines based on your particular pipe and intake set up. That gets you started and then you can get more detailed and run auto tune sessions and flash your ECM afterwards to really dial things in. We make this process super easy for you to understand and perform yourself. You can really increase the performance and efficiency of your motorcycle with the Fuelpak 3, so let us show you how & take the stress out of if.

Your stock Harley Davidson has narrow-band 12mm O2 sensors and  the Fuelpak 3 uses those to tune your bike. Some other aftermarket EFI tuners use wide-band 18mm O2 sensors to tune. You must order special pipes with 18mm bungs to accept the larger O2 sensors or have them welded in. Many will say that you get broader readings and tuning capabilities with wide band O2 sensors. For the majority of every day bikers we think the stock 12mm O2 sensors are just fine for our needs and you would not notice any difference for simple EFI tuning needs.

Most bikers will flash their ECM with a canned map and then run some auto tune sessions. If you later want to become a tuning expert you can really mess around with adjusting individual cells and make your own custom maps based on a ton of readings right in the app on your smartphone. That process is for tuning experts only and not realistic for the every day biker, so we stay away from that and it is not shown in this video.  You can damage your bike if you start doing that kind of advanced manual tuning unless you really spend a lot of time doing it and understanding it.

A great feature built into the Fuelpak 3 app is the ability to contact Vance & Hines directly from within. Additionally, from the app you can upload your auto tune session results to Vance & Hines. They can look at it, adjust it, and send it back to you in the app. Then you can flash your ECM with that new custom map! You can even turn on a feature that lets Vance & Hines see data readings of your running motorcycle remotely in real time. That is super cool!

The app also allows you to see a ton of data real time while you are riding right on the screen of your smartphone via the app. You can pick what you date items you want to display such as speed, engine temp, RPM's, throttle position sensor, just to name a few. That is why you will need a Biker Gripper Cell Phone Motorcycle Mount.  The Fuelpak 3 app has a great user interface, is super easy to use, and easy to understand. It ran flawlessly during our testing and you never need a laptop or computer like many other aftermarket EFI tuners. Everything is done right from the Fuelpak 3 app!

Fuelpak 3 Auto Tune Fuel CellHere is a picture of an auto tune I did. I was building on a previous map where I rode for about 60 miles.  I then rode about 600 miles over a 2 week period. I rode on city streets, county roads, and state highways and this was the result. I then flashed my ECM with this auto tune map.

The Bike Shield App Motorcycle Podcast artPODCAST-So we caught wind of a company working on a smartphone app to help protect bikers/motorcyclists from common collisions & to make other motorists aware of motorcycles around them. The app is called The Bike Shield App and it is available for free on both IOS and Android devices.  We break it down for you in this podcast episode and what our initial thoughts are. Is the app beneficial for bikers? Do we see the app taking off? What can be done to help push the app along and into the hands of more bikers and motorists? These are just a few of the questions we answer, so listen in now.

The Bike Shield App has an official website with information at www.thebikeshieldapp.com and there are also several YouTube videos describing the app. TDG Company CEO Pere Margalef dreamt up the app, but it fell short of it's Indiegogo crowd funding goal of $25,000 and ended on March 30, 2015 raising only $9,179. It appears the company is still moving forward with development.

It is often times well over that amount, yet we know you can do this project yourself by watching this tutorial video. We teach you everything you will need to know and walk you through the entire process.

In this tutorial video we install 13″ aftermarket handlebars & on a Harley Davidson touring motorcycle. We complete an install on both a Harley Street Glide and Road Glide. We wired the new bars internally on both for that clean look. You will not find a more thorough aftermarket handlebar install tutorial video out there. It is a video by bikers for bikers. You can put new handlebars on your Harley right in your garage or on your patio right on the kickstand! There are no specialty tools or motorcycle lifts required and I will give you a list of items you will need and things to think about later in this article.

The video is high definition and it is if you can reach out and turn the wrenches with us. In this video we skip no steps and we have no doubt that after watching you can do this project with ease. Tons of bikers all over the world now have aftermarket handlebars on their Harley's because of this exact video. We are very detailed in our explanations and we want you to be successful. That is where we get our greatest satisfaction.

There are many aftermarket handlebars for your Harley Davidson motorcycle in every shape, color, and size imaginable and the cost can vary just as much. There are many companies making quick connect/install kits. Most of these simple kits are the same and come with a bundle of colored wires for extending  wire harnesses, quick connectors, and shrink tube. If you are going with taller style handlebars then the kit may also include an extended clutch cable and extended front brake lines.

Many of these handlebar wiring kits have quick connect pins for extending the stock wire harnesses. You usually take off the stock plastic harley wire plugs, extend the wires with the quick kit colored wires, and then plug back into the stock plugs all without soldering. You can always snip the quick connectors that come with the wire kits and solder if you are more comfortable with that.

There are also kits with the OEM plugs on the end of the wire extensions to quickly hook up after soldering extensions in. Either way, we have you covered in this video. We filmed several different kits and show you how to proceed depending on your particular kit, which aren't much different.

We can tell you from experience that you will want to have a soldering iron and solder on hand. Often times because of bulky plugs it may be necessary to solder a bit to make things clean and easy. Your extension kit may require soldering. Don't worry, we make soldering so easy and show you exactly how to do it properly in this video.

Most the time you can go as tall as 12″ aftermarket handlebars without having to replace wires, cables, and lines. I said, “most the time”, so you need to do your own research for your particular year and model before you begin your project.
