Harley-Davidson Audio Powered By Rockford Fosgate Audio System Review

Harley-Davidson Audio Powered By Rockford Fosgate In this video, I discuss and review the complete Harley-Davidson Audio Powered by Rockford Fosgate system we install on a 2015 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special.  The system consisted of two amplifiers, fairing speakers, saddlebag lid speakers, and two 10-inch subwoofers.  I discuss the pros and potential cons of this system so you can decide if it, or part of it, is for you.  (See video below)

The first thing to note is we tested the system with a decibel meter and it hit at and above the level of other premium systems we installed in the past.  Keep in mind that motorcycle audio differs greatly from car audio.  In a car, you're in an enclosed space with the speakers.  On a motorcycle, the audio is going out to your environment, and at higher speeds, you're leaving the sound of rear speakers behind you.  With that said, the saddlebag lid speakers are designed so the speakers are pointed at the rider which may help a bit at highway speeds.

So, let's talk specifically about the subwoofers.  They are very loud when stopped or at low speed in town.  I was honestly supposed how much sound/bass they produced considering the small enclosures and limited air movement.  Harley-Davidson did an excellent job of designing the woofers.  They slide in and out of your saddlebag easily so you can have storage room when needed.  

The system is controlled through an App that allows you to adjust the sound in much finer detail than the Boom Box head unit alone.  You can adjust the volume of the subwoofers independently from the other speakers.  There are several preset EQ curves and the availability to create a custom EQ curve.  We found the Highway EQ curve helped to hear the sound at freeway speeds because it focuses on the high and mid-range sounds.  The Boom Box GT units require a flash from your local Harley-Davidson dealer.  The GTS units however do not require a flash.

Our final thoughts are this system is well-built with quality components.  It is as loud or louder than the other premium systems we've installed.  The installation is essentially plug-and-play, and easy to install with our installation video.  You won't be disappointed if you get it.

Changing the front fork oil on your Harley should be a regular maintenance item and should be done at certain intervals. See your Harley owner's manual for recommendations on when this should be done.

NEW 2023 HARLEY-DAVIDSON MODELS RELEASED | JANUARY 18, 2023

Harley-Davidson New 2023 ModelsOn January 18, 2023, Harley released seven new anniversary editions, two new models, and they’re bringing back the Breakout.  Now, I’ve wrapped up everything I learned and put it into a nice package for you in this video. I have a ton of information for you, and I’ll tell you what you actually need to know as a consumer and give some opinions along the way.  (see video below)
 
We're excited that we were selected, as one of only two YouTube channels, by Harley and given all this information about a week ago and placed under an embargo until today. 
 
The Harley-Davidson 120th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration Event is scheduled for July 13-16, 2023, in Milwaukee.  Harley informed us that this will become an annual event in Milwaukee.  Homecoming events will take place at venues across the Milwaukee area facilities and who knows, maybe we’ll see ya all there.

Anniversary Models

The first six of the seven total anniversary models share a unique paint scheme which is described as Heirloom Red Paint with a Midnight Crimson Fade and highlighted powertrain components. These models will have oxblood-colored inserts on the seats.  And, the anniversary models sharing this paint scheme are the Ultra Limited, Tri Glide Ultra, Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special, Fat Boy, and the Heritage Classic

The seventh anniversary model is the CVO Road Glide Limited, being the only anniversary model with the larger 117 Cubic Inch M8 engine.  Its paint is a bit different and can be described as Anniversary Black and Midnight Crimson fade. And when viewed in the sun there is a red highlight to the black.  A subdued eagle split up between the fairing, tank, and bags.

NEW MODELS

The Breakout is returning to the lineup with that beautiful Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin engine.  This bike will have a very wide rear tire, coming in at 240mm, a 5-gallon gas tank, and a 36-degree front rake, which makes it a long, low, wide, modern cruiser.

The Nightster Special is the next new model for 2023.  What’s so β€œSpecial” about this new Nightster?  To start, it has a passenger pillion and footpegs to allow two-up riding.  The handlebars and risers move the bars up and back for a more commanding rider position.  It has a four-inch round TFT display, replacing the analog speedometer and segmented LCD indicators, allowing for BlueTooth connectivity and navigation.  The Nightster Special is coming standard with cruise control, USB charging port, and you can add heated grips. 

This new model is going to be a surprise for some. And for many out there, it is a long time coming.  It is the all-new Road Glide 3 Trike.  I’m going to say right up front that even if you’ve never been interested in trikes, this one is sure to turn your head a bit. Many riders have requested a Road Gide Trike for years now and it looks like Harley made it happen.  A lot of engineering went into making the first Harley trike with a frame-mounted fairing including things like the placement of the fairing to accommodate the long rake and steering dampening of the trike.

About this Documentary Film:

This motorcycle documentary film is about a group of brothers that rode motorcycles for 9 days, 2200 miles, and covered 4 states.  I share our many experiences and the places we visited. Experience the good times, the bad times, the humorous times, and the many debacles. Ride along with us as we truly experience the law abiding biker lifestyle & meet bikers & great people from abroad. There are so many roads and places to experience when riding your motorcycle cross-country and that is the reason we live to ride. Riding motorcycles truly frees our souls. 

Some of us rode on Harley-Davidson motorcycles and some rode Indian motorcycles. We visited cities such as South Lake Tahoe, CA, San Francisco, CA, Santa Cruz, CA, Eureka, CA, Placerville, CA, Newport, OR, Diamond Lake, OR and more.

There were multiple purposes for this motorcycle trip. First, our mission was to experience the west coast of the United States and ride through beautiful areas getting there.  Additionally, this was a trip about spending time and bonding with my brothers as we are part of a law abiding biker club. Last, we met our beloved Patron Members of Law Abiding Bikerβ„’ Media in Placerville, CA. We took them on a great ride through east to South Lake Tahoe, CA with us and afterward we had an awesome dinner event at a park. The event was like none other & showcases what the law-abiding motorcycle community is truly about.
