Harley Davidson and Harman Kardon just released Boom!™ Box software update version 1.19.2 on February 1, 2016. This comes right after software update versions 1.19.1.2 was released in December 2015. We have received many inquiries from bikers asking if they should update to this latest version. It is always a good idea to wait and see if an update fixes more than it breaks and let me have some time to test things.

Note: This particular update if for the Boom Box 4.3 Standard, 6.5T Premium, and the CVO 6.5GT systems. I give the go ahead to update to this new Boom Box software update version, 1.19.2.

I installed and tested this update for you. As usual, don't expect any miracles and that suddenly all things will be fixed for ever user. They still have a long way to go to get rid of all the problems that persist with the Harley Boom!™ Box Infotainment System.

FAQ:

Question: If I get behind on updating my Boom Box software, will I have to go back and install each past update I missed?

Answer: No, you do not have to update incrementally. If you get behind, just grab the latest software update here and install it. It will update everything you need including past updates. There is no access to the older updates from the Harley website anyways.

This update claims to fix the following: (1.19.2)

Issues Fixed:

Radio Fixes:

– Radio off state remains after ignition cycle.
– Splash screen takes too long to disappear
– Blank menu buttons in high contrast mode
– CB channel and other text difficult to read in high contrast mode
– Road Glide Picon cut off
– Auto-reply nonfunctional after enabling in menu
– Auto dimming day/night transitions faster

Audio Fixes:

– Audio quality “pumping” and “surging” improved.

Media Fixes:

– Last media source remains after ignition cycle
– Favorite hard key not persisting with USB media after ignition cycle

Navigation Fixes:

– GPS Time Incorrect (Incorrect time zone adjustment)

New Biker Grippers, Custom Harley Primary Inspection Cover, Boom Box Voice Mic-VLOG-23

VLOG-A quick Vlog behind the scenes at Law Abiding Biker Podcast & Media. We just got a new product to add to our line of Biker Gripper motorcycle cell phone & GPS mounts. It's called a master stem mount and is for metric motorcycles.

I also received a motorcycle voice mic for testing and review in the mail. It is a mic to hook to your 7 pin communications port on your Harley and is supposed to allow you to give voice commands to your Harley Boom Box system. I received a brand new custom Harley primary inspection cover with our partial motorcycle club logo. A review and install video is forthcoming on that item.

This comes right after software update versions 1.19.1.1 was released in November 2015. We have received many inquires from bikers asking if they should update to this latest version. It is always a good idea to wait and see if an update fixes more than it breaks and let me have some time to test things.

Note: This particular update if only for the Boom Box 6.5T Premium system and the CVO 6.5GT system. It is not for the standard 4.3 system.

I give the go ahead to update to this new Boom Box software update version, 1.19.1.2 if you choose to, however I am not going to as it doesn't affect the English language. I'll wait for another big updated to come out, which I suspect will be in the spring of 2016 per my sources.

I heavily tested the last big updates, version 1.19.0 & 1.19.1, back in July 2015. In this newest version, 1.19.1.2, only one new item/bug was actually fixed. That new item is labeled “correction to GPS coordinate entry (East/West) for German, French, Spanish, & Italian languages.”

VLOG-21-Take a look inside Law Abiding Biker Podcast & Media. Another long work day from morning until late at night. We are working in the studio doing some Apple computer stuff. We were getting Lurch set up, as he is very mobile lately and needs to be connected.

See my mad chef skills as I make sandwich wraps for Lurch and my girls. Yah, they were pretty good.

I give the go ahead to update to this new Boom Box software update version, 1.19.1.1. I heavily tested the last big updates, version 1.19.0 & 1.19.1, back in July 2015. In this newest version, 1.19.1.1, only one new item/bug was actually fixed. That new item is labeled “incorrect next turn bar directions.” That refers to when you are in GPS mode on the Boom Box and it advises you of the next turn at the bottom of the screen. Many bikers were experiencing problems with this function.

Come behind the scenes with us a bit here at Law Abiding Biker Media. Join us in the garage/film studio as we crank out another video for all you Bikaholics.

We had a 2015 Harley Road Glide on the motorcycle lift for you all. We were filming a complete install of a Harley Davidson Boom Audio Stage 1 & 2 front speaker and amp kit.

We show you a bit about all the work that goes on behind our videos along with the cameras and lighting. We started years ago with nothing more than a cheap handheld camcorder and smart phones. Wow, have we progressed from those days.

With a ton of hard work and support from the community we have much more professional equipment now to film videos. And our filming and post productions skills have developed.
