Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Software Update Version 1.19.1.2 & 2016 Predictions

Harley Davidson and Harman Kardon just released Boom!™ Box software update version 1.19.1.2 on December 4, 2015. This comes right after software update versions 1.19.1.1 was released in November 2015. We have received many inquires from bikers asking if they should update to this latest version. It is always a good idea to wait and see if an update fixes more than it breaks and let me have some time to test things.

Note: This particular update if only for the Boom Box 6.5T Premium system and the CVO 6.5GT system. It is not for the standard 4.3 system.

I give the go ahead to update to this new Boom Box software update version, 1.19.1.2 if you choose to, however I am not going to as it doesn't affect the English language. I'll wait for another big updated to come out, which I suspect will be in the spring of 2016 per my sources.

I heavily tested the last big updates, version 1.19.0 & 1.19.1, back in July 2015. In this newest version, 1.19.1.2, only one new item/bug was actually fixed. That new item is labeled “correction to GPS coordinate entry (East/West) for German, French, Spanish, & Italian languages.”

FAQ:

Question: If I get behind on updating my Boom Box software, will I have to go back and install each past update I missed?

Answer: No, you do not have to update incrementally. If you get behind, just grab the latest software update here and install it. It will update everything you need including past updates. There is no access to the older updates from the Harley website anyways.

Harley Davidson and Harman Kardon silently released Boom!™ Box software update version 1.19.1 in July, 2015. Bikaholics everywhere are wondering if they should update. Well, that is what I have been here for all along. I took the leap of faith for you and tested the update to make sure it does not break more than it fixes like in the past.

I give the green light to update to this new version, 1.19.1. Mostly, because I heavily tested the last update, version 1.19.0, and in this newest version, 1.19.1, only one new item was added to the update list. Other than that it was all the same exact updates/fixes we saw in version 1.19.0 back in May, 2015. Not sure why they came out with a new version for one item? That one new item is labeled as “Road Tech zumo prompts inaudible”.

-High Contrast Day Colors

Issues Fixed:

Road Tech zumo prompts inaudible (Only new item for this update)(Below items were all in version 1.19.0)
AVC inoperable until the first time it is adjusted
Radio does not switch between units properly
Volume adjustment from hand controls does not function
Presets do not recall correct station/media
Radio remains “off” after engine crank
Address field cannot be edited
Radio stuck on splash screen/accept screen
Temperature between C & F inaccurate
WB seek up/down broken after ignition cycle
Radio system stays on after shutdown for an extended period
Traffic Announcements not working
AM/FM Reception missing strong stations on seek
Media not playing after ignition cycle
Brazil dealerships missing
Performance and stability enhancements

Wired Plug & Play Headset For Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Infotainment System

Harley Davidson is equipping all 2014 and later touring models with the Boom!™ Box Infotainment System. Frustrating to many bikers/motorcyclists is the fact that there is absolutely no bluetooth headset capable of pairing with the system. There is a wired only solution at this time, which we will discuss below if you are interested.

As I have said here many times, Harley Davidson put the cart before the horse on releasing this Boom Box system. Although the system does some amazing things, it does have a steep learning curve that we can help flatten with our #1 ranked Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Tutorial videos! The system is getting better and better with continuing software updates. Make sure your system software is up to date at all times.
