Harley Davidson and Harman Kardon silently released Boom!™ Box software update version 1.19.0 on May 22, 2015. Bikaholics everywhere are wondering if they should update. Well, that is what I have been here for all along. I will take the leap of faith for you and test the update to make sure it does not brake more than it fixes like in the past. This update claims to fix the following:

Issues Fixed:

  1. AVC inoperable until the first time it is adjustedLearn Boom Box Infotainment Biker Podcast
  2. Radio does not switch between units properly
  3. Volume adjustment from hand controls does not function
  4. Presets do not recall correct station/media
  5. Radio remains “off” after engine crank
  6. Address field cannot be edited
  7. Radio stuck on splash screen/accept screen
  8. Temperature between C & F inaccurate
  9. WB seek up/down broken after ignition cycle
  10. Radio system stays on after shutdown for an extended period

  12. AM/FM Reception missing strong stations on seek

Wired Plug & Play Headset For Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Infotainment System

Harley Davidson is equipping all 2014 and later touring models with the Boom!™ Box Infotainment System. Frustrating to many bikers/motorcyclists is the fact that there is absolutely no bluetooth headset capable of pairing with the system. There is a wired only solution at this time, which we will discuss below if you are interested.

As I have said here many times, Harley Davidson put the cart before the horse on releasing this Boom Box system. Although the system does some amazing things, it does have a steep learning curve that we can help flatten with our #1 ranked Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Tutorial videos! The system is getting better and better with continuing software updates. Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Infotainment Has No Bluetooth Headset-Wired Headset Info

Harley Davidson is equipping all 2014 and later touring models with the Boom!™ Box Infotainment System. Frustrating to many bikers/motorcyclists is the fact that there is absolutely no bluetooth headset capable of pairing with the system. There is a wired only solution at this time, which we will discuss below if you are interested.

Harmon Kardon, the maker of the Boom!™ Box system, are of little help at this point & remaining silent. Bikers are getting the run around from Harley Davidson too and neither company wants to take responsibility for a variety of issues going on with the Boom!™ Box system. We get emails from community members stating that Harmon Kardon & Harley-Davidson are both sending bikers with questions away or not even answering them at all. This furthers the frustrations many loyal Harley owners are feeling.

Harley Boom!™ Box Freezing or Locking When Playing Music-Issue Resolved Here!

Harley Boom Box Frozen LockedBikers/motorcyclists and Harley dealerships often reach out to Law Abiding Biker® Podcast & Media for our expertise & guidance with the Harley Davidson Boom!™ Box Infotainment System and our #1 best selling Boom!™ Box tutorial videos.

Recently, we received an inquiry where an individual was having a problem when synced between his smartphone and his Boom Box system via bluetooth and playing music. The music playback would stop/freeze and he was also not able to fast forward, rewind, or move on with the joystick toggles on the handlebars or via the touchscreen on the 6.5 Boom Box model. It was also tested with the smartphone/music player plugged directly into the Boom Box via the USB port in the juke box compartment on the Harley and the same issue presented itself.

Many times in the past we have fixed situations like this by flashing the Boom Box system back to factory etc. See our original Boom! Box Tutorial Video to learn how to do this & a ton of other things. It can solve many issues if your system locks up.

Normally, when synced (bluetooth) via a smartphone or iPod (MP3 player) with the Boom Box or when plugged directly in via a USB cable you can control your music player/smartphone via the toggles on the handlebars or via touch screen. This is the way it is supposed to work.

  1. Added capability to view information about a point of Interest, HD Dealership, recent destination, saved destination, home, or XM fuel price station while in a current route
  2. Added capability to cancel “next waypoint” (FINALLY)

VIDEO & BLOG-Harley Davidson and Harman Kardon have released Boom!™ Box software update version 1.18.2. Bikaholics everywhere are wondering if they should update after the debacle of the release of 1.18.1 a month or so ago. Harley put out 1.18.1 and many downloaded the updated only to find that it broke more things than it fixed! Within days and unannounced as usual, Harley pulled the available software update from their website. That has been the most frustrating thing for loyal Harley Davidson customers; Harley's refusal to publicly address the huge issue and problems with the Boom!™ Box. You would think such a large company with such loyal customers would just admit the failure and move on.  Simply tell us customers that it is being worked on and what we can expect to happen. Complete customer relation FAILURE on Harley Davidson's part. The local dealerships are not even being advised of what is going on and that is leaving customers with a bad taste in their mouths.

So, the question is whether you should take the leap of faith and update to software veriosn 1.18.2? Well, that is what I have been here for all along. I took the leap of faith for you and tested the system to extremes and in ways most don't know how. I spent much time in the garage and on the road making sure it was a valid update. From my testing I am happy to say that I encourage everyone to go ahead and update to 1.18.2. It doesn't fix everything of course, but it fixes more than it breaks this time around.
