2025 Harley Touring Model PRICE Increases? MORE Or LESS Options? NEW FAIRING Design? THE REAL SCOOP!

The much-anticipated January 2nd reveal of Harley-Davidson’s 2025 lineup has sparked a mix of excitement and curiosity within the motorcycle community. Only six new models were unveiled on their website, but more are expected to be announced during the virtual launch later this month. This article will break down what’s currently known, including pricing, changes (or lack thereof), and predictions for the full lineup. (see video below)

Initial Reveal: A “Soft Launch”

As of January 2nd, Harley-Davidson revealed the following six models for 2025:

  • Street Glide
  • Road Glide
  • Road King Special
  • Freewheeler (trike)
  • Tri Glide Ultra (trike)
  • Road Glide 3 (trike)

These models appear to be largely carryovers from 2024, with no significant mechanical or cosmetic changes. This “soft launch” is typical for Harley-Davidson, saving the more substantial announcements for their virtual event on January 23rd at 5 PM CST on their YouTube channel.

Pricing Increases

One of the most notable updates is the price hikes across the lineup. Here's a closer look:

Road King Special

  • 2024 Price: $24,999
  • 2025 Price: $25,749
  • Increase: $750

Despite the price increase, the Road King Special remains largely unchanged. It still features the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, Prodigy Wheels, and black trim-only options. The three available colors are:

  • Billiard Gray
  • Vivid Black (+$500)
  • Whiskey Fire (+$700)

Some enthusiasts were hoping for updates such as redesigned tanks, fenders, and saddlebags akin to the 2024 Street Glide and Road Glide but were left disappointed.

Street Glide & Road Glide

  • 2024 Street Glide Price: $25,999
  • 2025 Street Glide Price: $27,749
  • Increase: $1,750
  • 2024 Road Glide Price: $25,999
  • 2025 Road Glide Price: $27,999
  • Increase: $2,000

Both models received major redesigns in 2024, so no substantial changes were expected for 2025. The price increases reflect Harley’s broader pricing adjustments, which have raised concerns among riders.

Road Glide 3 & Tri Glide Ultra

Interestingly, the Road Glide 3 and Tri Glide Ultra did not see price increases for 2025. The Tri Glide Ultra received updated wheels (19-inch front, 18-inch rear) and is now available in black trim for the first time, offering additional color options.

Trim and Paint Options

Harley-Davidson continues to emphasize black trim, offering additional color options compared to chrome models. However, this trend has frustrated traditionalists who favor chrome aesthetics. Notable colors for 2025 include:

  • Mystic Shift: A dynamic shade that changes from gunmetal to orange depending on light angles.
  • Whiskey Firestorm & Midnight Firestorm: Featuring ghost flames, exclusive to black trim models.

Unfortunately, these unique options are not available for chrome trim enthusiasts.

Predictions for the Virtual Launch

On January 23rd, Harley-Davidson is expected to unveil more models and changes. Here’s what to watch for:

Full Touring Models

  • Will the Road Glide Limited and Ultra Limited finally get the 2024 fairing redesign?
  • Are these models being phased out in favor of a build-to-order system? Speculation suggests customers might start with base models and add touring packages to create full touring bikes.

Cruiser and CVO Models

  • The Cruiser lineup has yet to be revealed, leaving room for surprises.
  • The popular 2024 CVO Road Glide ST is also absent from the website. Could significant updates be on the way?

Pan America Adventure Line

The Pan America adventure bike is due for updates. Could Harley-Davidson enter the middleweight adventure market?

In this podcast episode we talk about all the modifications we did to my newly Police Harley. After getting it fully equipped with police-specific gear, it's now officially in service. Lurch and I talk about how we, as a department, decided to set up our police motorcycles, highlighting some of the specialty equipment used. While some features come factory-ready from Harley-Davidson, many others are department-specific or added by third-party vendors. Let’s dive into the details.

One of the most exciting aspects of this build was getting the green light for some performance upgrades. We installed a Stage One Kit, including a Screamin' Eagle high-flow intake and exhaust system, to improve airflow and enhance performance.

  • Screamin' Eagle Intake and Exhaust: Although we used OEM Harley-Davidson parts, the upgrades significantly improved the bike's performance, making it sound better and increase power. 
  • EFI Remapping and Tuning: After installing the intake and exhaust, we remapped the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) using the Screamin' Eagle tuner. While not our first choice, it got the job done. In the future, we’d recommend the Vance & Hines Fuelpak 4 tuner, available in our store, for superior performance and ease of use.

Comfort and Safety Mods

Comfort is key, especially for officers spending long hours in the saddle. The addition of adjustable levers and an extended brake pedal greatly improved both comfort and safety.

LAB-373-Things We Learned On Our Multi-State Motorcycle Trip

multi-state motorcycle tripIn this episode, we talk about our recent multi-state motorcycle trip and the things we learned.  Our recent trip from Nashville, Tennessee, out to the Coast, down and across Florida to Destin, and then back up to Nashville was no exception.  The first debacle occurred at the very beginning of our trip.  This was the first trip that we trailered bikes.  Lurch and Popeye trailered the bikes to Patron Member Russell Roberts's house while the remainder of us flew.  We failed to put the bikes in transport mode assuming there would be no issue since we left the key fobs on the bikes.  Wrong!  At least we had our portable jump packs to get us going.

LAB-371-I Rode A LIVEWIRE 1 On The Police Competition Course | NAMOA 2024

In this episode, we discuss riding a LiveWire 1 on a police competition course at the North America Motor Officers Association (NAMOA) 2024 conference.  Many of the officers at NAMOA wanted to test-ride my bike to specifically experience my extended brake pedal.  It puts the brake pedal in a natural position that relieves fatigue when working cone patterns.  The other item they wanted to experience was my PSR adjustable clutch and brake lever.  Like the pedal, these adjustable levers relieve fatigue and allow you to put your levers where you want them to engage.

LAB-370-Proper Motorcycle Clutch Break-in | PSR Levers and Fat Baggers EZ Clutch Adjuster

Motorcycle clutch break-inIn this episode, I'm joined by Lurch, and we give you proper motorcycle clutch break-in procedures to ensure a good working and long-lasting clutch.  Most riders buy their new bike and just ride and don't truly break it in.  I recommend breaking your clutch in correctly to widen your clutch friction zone and ensure durability.  

For those unfamiliar with the term, the friction zone is the critical area where the clutch plates are neither fully engaged nor disengaged. Some riders might call it “dragging the clutch.” Mastering control within this zone is crucial for maneuvering your motorcycle, particularly at lower speeds. Experienced riders, like police officers, frequently operate within this zone to navigate challenging courses, which directly translates to safer street riding.

Given the shift to cable clutches by Harley, we can still optimize the setup. Harley incorporates a plastic adjuster along the cable line, essentially an automatic adjuster. However, this system lacks the flexibility for riders to fine-tune play or engagement preferences. Fortunately, I've discovered a solution in the form of the Fat Baggers EZ Clutch Adjustor Upgrade. This aftermarket product replaces the stock plastic adjuster with a more durable metal counterpart, enabling precise external adjustments for clutch lever positioning. We carry these clutch adjusters right in the Law Abiding Biker Store.
