Review-The Harley Wireless Headset Interface Module (WHIM) is now available for '14-later Touring and Trike models equipped with Boom! Audio 6.5GT Radios, this Wireless Headset Interface Module (WHIM) lets you communicate with your bike without being wired to it. The WHIM Bluetooth adapter permits wireless connectivity to the 6.5GT Infotainment system, allowing you to communicate via CB radio, hear turn-by-turn GPS directions, listen to your favorite radio stations and so much more all through your Bluetooth®-enabled headset.
NOTE: You will have to take your Harley to a dealership to get your Boom Box flashed after install of the module and harness. Only Harley dealerships have this proprietary software. And, some dealerships will charge you.

As you said, we have waited for this for four years. One WHIM is less expensive than 2 FW. Regardless of headsets.
Please encourage Harley-Davidson to integrate the new Sena 30K technology into the infotainment system and get rid of the antiquated/draconian CB Radio.
Edward O'Connor says
The update to the 30 would be great. However for those of us that travel long distances the CB radios are still very valuable when we communicate with truckers regarding traffic, weather and the like. Food for thought when we are on the road. My Sena 10S’s work great but I will be upgrading to the 20s at the very least.

With the new harley davidson wireless headset interface modular does the voice recognition part of the boom box system work? I have a 2015 road glide special with the 6.5 boom box.
Ryan Urlacher says
Yes. We still suggest the Sena Freewire a this point. It does the same thing and is working better. Many are having problems with all sorts of issues with the WHIM. Scroll down our Sena Freewire product page and watch our videos. https://shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/sena-headsets/products/sena-freewire-bluetooth-transmitter-for-harley-davidson-motorcycles

Surely the 2018 models will do without having to buy more stuff that should be standard in 2018. I read somewhere that the 2018 were Bluetooth ready, please don’t tell that this is not so. I was having a good day until your link took me to the Harley website and it starts talking headset interface module part # 76000768. I have a new trike on order and was hoping for Bluetooth headset connection
Ryan Urlacher says
The 2018 models with the Boom Box come with the add-on WHIM already installed for wireless bluetooth connectivity John.

I’m just throwing a friendly *caution* on purchasing the WHIM at this time everyone. You might be highly dissapointed. I have connections all over and have a ton of reports of guys not happy at all. Some are ripping the WHIM out. There are flash issues and connection issues. One of the biggest is the big lack of quality of sound of the music etc when going from the WHIM to the wireless headset (all brands). The music looses its quality. All I can tell you is I’d wait and feel it out to see if some of the issues get firxed or not. HD is not going to refund you when you are not happy, trust me! Just friendly advice everyone. We will be testing this device over some time here to get to the truth.
Janet Smeltzer says
we picked it up last weekend and can’t get it to work on our 2016 ultra limited 🙁
even got the wireless headsets too… not very happy 🙁
Ryan Urlacher says
We are hearing that from a ton of bikers out there. Most are not happy and many are tearing it out and staying with the Freewire, which does the same thing. https://shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/sena-headsets/products/sena-freewire-bluetooth-transmitter-for-harley-davidson-motorcycles
OSCAR RIVERA says

John Murphy says

Was thinking of purchasing this for my 2014 SG and wondering if it would work with the SENA 10S. Still wonder if it would work with the SENA 10S, but after reading your comment I probably wait to purchase.
Do you know if it works with the SENA 10S?
Ryan Urlacher says
I believe it will, but check w/ Sena for sure. However, you’ll only get “mono” sound. Yup, HD sticking it to you. The only way you’ll get “stereo” sound is to by the Sena Bluetooth headset stamped with the Harley logo. Yup, the good old HD tax. 🙂
OSCAR RIVERA says
YES IT WORKS WITH THE S10 AND THE OLD 10 I HAVE THEM BOTH AND IT WORKS GREAT
Neels Venter says
Thanks for the great video’s you post – all the way from South Africa.
Does the Sena “HD” 20S still allow for bike to bike communication?
If it does, can you do music sharing for instance from the Boom! to the rider on the other bike?
Thanks a lot!
Ryan Urlacher says
Shout out South Africa. Very cool. Yes, you can talk with other riders via the 20S just like the regular 20S. It’s basically the exact same 20S, just stamped with an HD logo and integrates with the WHIM. Not sure about music sharing. Haven’t ever used that.
Nigel says
It’s the same apart from the very important fact that the HD sena has stereo sound . The part you clamp to your helmet stamped with HD logo enables stereo sound, well worth the extra few quid who wants mono sound ??
Ryan Urlacher says
It’s all in my videos and explained. Here’s more info for you ==> https://www.lawabidingbiker.com/whim-install/
**You also get full stereo sound with a Sena Freewire, which was out long before the WHIM. https://shop.lawabidingbiker.com/collections/sena-headsets/products/sena-freewire-bluetooth-transmitter-for-harley-davidson-motorcycles
